대한민국 접경지역과 DMZ를 횡단하는 ‘제6회 Tour de DMZ 2023 국제자전거대회’의 모든 참가자 분들께 따뜻한 환영과 감사의 인사를 드립니다.

먼저 뜻깊은 행사를 준비해주신 행정안전부, 인천시, 경기도, 대한자전거연맹을 비롯한 관계자 여러분의 노고에 깊은 감사를 전합니다.

전쟁의 아픔을 간직한 땅 DMZ는 오랜 기간 분단과 대립·갈등의 상징이었지만, DMZ의 가치와 발전방안에 대한 활발한 논의를 통해 변화를 맞이하고 있습니다. 여러분들의 힘찬 페달을 통해 DMZ가 소통과 화합이 이루어지는 축제의 장이 되기를 기대합니다.

“DMZ, 70년의 경계를 넘어 미래로”라는 이번 대회의 슬로건처럼, 지난 6월 새 이름으로 출범한 강원특별자치도 또한 628년 만에 새로운 시대를 열어가고 있습니다. DMZ와 강원특별자치도가 세계로 뻗어나가는 자유와 기회의 땅이 될 수 있도록 여러분의 애정 어린 관심과 전폭적인 지지를 부탁드립니다.

다시 한 번 대회에 참가해 주신 모든 분들을 진심으로 환영하며, 모쪼록 대회기간 동안 최종 목적지까지 안전한 주행을 당부드리며, 강원특별자치도의 아름다운 자연과 함께 특별한 추억을 남기시는 시간이 되기를 기원합니다. 감사합니다.

It is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome and heartfelt appreciation to all the participants of the '6th Tour de DMZ 2023 International Road Cycling Tour,' which takes place across the border area and DMZ of the Republic of Korea.

Greetings. I am Kim Jin Tae, the Governor of Gangwon State.

It is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome and heartfelt appreciation to all the participants of the '6th Tour de DMZ 2023 International Road Cycling Tour,' which takes place across the border area and DMZ of the Republic of Korea.

First and foremost, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Interior and Safety, Incheon Metropolitan City, Gyeonggi province, Korea Cycling Federation, and all the dedicated officials for organizing this meaningful event and their hard work.

The DMZ, with its pain and tragedy of war, has long been a symbol of division, confrontation, and conflict. However, we are now promoting discussions about the DMZ's value and its potential for development, leading to a time of change. I believe that your powerful pedaling during this event can help transform the DMZ into a venue for the festival of interaction and reconciliation.

Aligned with the event's slogan“Beyond 70-year Barriers, Riding for Tomorrow”, Gangwon State is embarking on a new journey since June, following its establishment 628 years ago. And I’d like to ask for your kind attention and full support for the DMZ and Gangwon State to make it a land of freedom and opportunity, reaching out to the global community.

Once again, I extend a warm welcome to all the participants, and I wish you a safe ride to the finish line. Moreover, take the time to savor the beauty of Gangwon State's nature and create unforgettable memories. Thank you.
