안녕하십니까? 경기도지사 김동연입니다.

Tour de DMZ 2023 국제자전거대회가 평화와 생명의 땅 DMZ에서 열립니다. 대회 참가를 위해 경기·인천·강원 접경지역을 찾아주신 국내외 참가자 여러분 모두 진심으로 환영합니다.

올해는 정전 70주년이 되는 해입니다. 오늘 행사가 열리는 이곳 DMZ는 분단의 상징인 동시에 다양한 생명이 살아 숨 쉬는 기적의 땅입니다. 경기도는 평화와 생태를 포괄하는 ‘더 큰 평화’의 땅으로 DMZ를 가꿔 나아가려 합니다.

“70년의 경계를 넘어 미래로!”라는 이번 대회 슬로건처럼 경기도는 DMZ를 평화와 번영을 위한 기회의 장소로 만들기 위해 앞으로도 최선을 다하겠습니다.

오늘 대회가 계층과 세대, 국경과 이념을 넘어 전 세계인이 하나되는 소통과 화합의 장이 되길 바라며, 경기도와 함께 뜻깊은 행사 개최를 위해 애써주신 행정안전부, 강원도, 인천시, (사)대한자전거연맹과 모든 관계자 여러분의 노고에 깊이 감사드립니다.

참가하신 분들 모두 부상 없이 좋은 결과 거두시길 바라며, 1,400만 경기도민과 함께 여러분의 열정과 도전을 응원하겠습니다. 감사합니다.

The 2023 Tour de DMZ takes place in the Korean Demilitarized Zone — the DMZ — a land of peace and life. I warmly welcome all the participants from Korea and abroad to the inter-Korean border area that ranges from Gyeonggi Province and Incheon Metropolitan City to Gangwon Province.

The 2023 Tour de DMZ takes place in the Korean Demilitarized Zone — the DMZ — a land of peace and life. I warmly welcome all the participants from Korea and abroad to the inter-Korean border area that ranges from Gyeonggi Province and Incheon Metropolitan City to Gangwon Province.

Today we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement. While the DMZ is the symbol of division of the Korean Peninsula, it is also a place of miracles that boasts unique biodiversity. Gyeonggi Province is devoted to turning the DMZ into a symbol of “Greater Peace” that encompasses the values of both peace and biodiversity.

As expressed by the slogan of this year’s tour, “Beyond 70-year Barriers, Riding for Tomorrow,” Gyeonggi Province will continue to do its utmost to make the DMZ a place of ample opportunities for peace and prosperity.

I hope this event serves as a platform for the unity and harmony of all, transcending the barriers of background, age, nationality and idealogy. My special thanks go to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Incheon Metropolitan Government, the Gangwon Provincial Government and the Korea Cycling Federation for working closely together with my team for the organization of this event.
